We return with an idea that is not new (let’s remember kachingle), although in this case it appears a little simpler and more practical in its use: micropayments in the form of donations to any page or web content.
Although the business model of the vast majority of publications on the web is based on advertising, there are those who insist on changing this situation by offering the possibility of receiving small payments from the faithful community of each website. If each reader of this blog, for example, donated 1 euro per month, it would generate more than half a million euros per month, something that is difficult to achieve with advertising …
The fact is that tiptheweb.org offers a tool, integrated with Paypal, that allows us to make donations to any web page, as well as receive them for our work as content generators. They intend to offer prizes to the sites with the most donations, although being in their initial phase there is not much content in their database.
We can manage payments made in a simple way, repeating them when we consider it necessary and donating not only to websites, but also to videos, photos and other content that our donations deserve.
At the moment it is in closed beta, although it took less than 24 hours to send me the invitation.
