Mailbox (mailboxapp.com) attracted attention at the time for being one of the most attractive email clients for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) at the moment. So attractive that Dropbox bought it, impressing everyone who thought that this company was only interested in matters related to data storage and synchronization.
The fact is that there have been no major updates since its purchase, it is still a fantastic client to consult Gmail, although without an Android version and without the possibility of consulting emails other than Google. Or at least that’s how it was until a few hours ago, when a new version was announced that allows it to integrate with Yahoo mail, iCloud, Me.com and Mac.com.
We still do not have an Android version, but at least it is an indication that there is a group concerned about updating this system, which is still alive, and with a giant like Dropbox on their backs.
They comment on their blog that it has been one of the most requested features since the beginning of the project, let’s hope they continue listening and we can see how Dropbox, little by little, becomes a good Google Drive competition, offering services office integrated to its great data storage service.
