The website was created in November 2003 with the intention of facilitating and guiding the search for educational games and educational toys to teachers, parents, educators and heads of toy libraries, with a clear pedagogical orientation.

The Ludomecum website, an online toy library, has been created and advised by an important pedagogical team, made up, among others, by Dr. Gonzalo Jover, Professor of Theory of Education at the Complutense University of Madrid, and Da. Imma Marn, pedagogical advisor to the Crecer Playing Foundation.

The site has educational and training guides for teachers and social educators. In addition, it uses a specialized search system based on nine age ranges that classifies games according to their type, development area that they work and curricular areas that they cover.
