Google Me – Google’s interest in having a Social network

Google Me - Google's interest in having a Social network

A little bird told me. It escaped Kevin Rose in one of his Tweets:

Ok, umm, big buzz: Google will launch a Facebook competitor very soon Google Me, very reliable source.

Yes, Facebook has everything you need to communicate and that if you have nothing to search on the Internet, you will spend most of your time there. Ah well, you might leave Facebook for a moment to take a walk through the Tuenti.

Many of you will think, but Google is not a search engine? Yes, but your business is advertising. Well, it has many, but let’s say we are led to believe that this is the most important.

And the advertising has to be shown where the users are (are they advertisers?) And if it can be, let it be advertising targeted to the maximum (That one guy seeing online ads for tampax is going to end). Or at least it will end on social media.

So… What is the true appeal of social media for Google?. Well, sell to advertisers that their AdWords ads will be displayed on the Google Me social network, so that when you launch a campaign as an advertiser, you will have the search network on the one hand, the content network on the other and the social network Google Me as the third option. Where can you say, show this ad to 20-year-old girls from the town of Orellana la Vieja (Badajoz). What’s cool?

What Google is going to bring to the Facebook user who has already overcome the learning curve to do what he needs, which is to upload photos, send some other message and something else? Well, I don’t know. Who is going to try by all means? Bet on it. The cake is too appetizing not to incarnate the tooth.

But what I am completely sure of is that everyone who uses Google to login to Facebook is going to see a big sponsored ad right at the bottom of the search box with the yellow background advertised Google Me.

And I clicked on that ads are insured. The issue of registration, and that the account is not abandoned after a few weeks is another story.
