Foodspotting is a website dedicated to the recommendation of restaurants and businesses related to the hotel industry, through geolocated photographs of your dishes.
Its main page shows a large Google map with miniature images of the dishes uploaded by users, which we can search by indicating the name of the food or drink, our physical position or both.
The page itself works similar to Foursquare, so we can add friends, make comments, rate dishes, win decorations (badges) and of course use our mobile phone to photograph the food or upload the image directly from the web.
It currently has an application for iPhone and apparently they will soon have another one for Android, in order to achieve the largest possible number of mobile users.
In addition to all this and as in Gowalla, we will have the possibility of create guides to locate food tours or group the entire menu of a restaurant in one place.
A promising project that already has a good number of users, so it is very possible that we will find recommendations even in our own city and if not we can always release it, don’t you think?
