Do you have a damaged Word file? With this simple trick you can get it back

This is how you can recover a damaged Word through Google Docs.

The typical thing: you have finished a Word with hundreds of pages and hundreds of hours of work and when passing it to a pendrive to print it or to present it you see that something has gone wrong and the document is damaged or corrupted. This problem, unless we have the mother file without any error, will be very difficult to solve. But luckily there are solutions.

There are many recovery programsEven Microsoft Word itself has a tool for it, but it doesn’t always work. If so, there is a very good trick, and that is to use Google Docs, the great G’s office software.

Google Docs is your friend

It may seem silly, but with Google Docs we have many possibilities to recover a corrupted Word file. The explanation is very simple: Word files and Docs files, despite being compatible, do not share 100% of the XML code. This can be a problem because we lose the format, or at least part of it, but it is ideal for removing (almost) any errors.

So what do I have to do? We open Gooogle Drive, upload the corrupted .doc or .docx and open it. It is at this time that Google’s servers process the content and the errors will disappear. Once we have verified that everything is correct, we download it in PDF mode. This last step is very important, because if we re-download it in .doc or .docx format, the error will continue there.

Once we have the PDF back on our computer, we just have to convert it to a document through some program or web and that’s it. Another option is to try to open the PDF with Word, which can be done. We make click right over the file and select Open with.

Chances are we have to redo everything that is design and formatBecause with the changes we have made, everything has been disrupted. But in the end it is better to lose the design that we used to lose hundreds of pages of work.
