Audiovisual literacy portal of the World Association of Early Childhood Educators

Audiovisual literacy portal of the World Association of Early Childhood Educators

The Audiovisual Literacy Portal, created by the World Association of Early Childhood Educators (AMEI-WAECE) with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, Social Policy and Sports, is part of a Preliminary Study with teachers and educators in Spain to find out the concerns of professionals of education on this topic.

The contents are presented in a pedagogical way and try to answer the most common questions that professionals and parents ask themselves when carrying out the teaching of literacy, such as:

– when to start literacy learning;

– whether or not there are prerequisites; Y

– which or what are the most appropriate methodologies.

It also dedicates a section to difficulties in the literacy process and provides a multitude of motivating learning situations for children.

In addition, the portal shows more than 100 papers presented at various international congresses where leading specialists give us their vision of the learning process of reading and writing.

The website includes support proposals to facilitate teachers developing classroom experiences that favor the reading-writing process and -especially reading comprehension-, for which nine genuinely motivating workshops have been developed.
